Hydrogen and emission-free electricity replaces fossil fuels in sectors such as industry and transport. Industrial emissions will be reduced, e.g. by replacing fossil fuels with clean energy sources in the industry’s own electricity and heat production and through electrification of processes.
   • Hydrogen complements the use of electricity. The advantage of hydrogen is its storability and versatility.
   • Besides the use as a fuel, hydrogen can be used for energy storage and energy transport. In that way, hydrogen serves as an essential part of the future sector-integrated energy system.
   • Clean hydrogen delivers climate impact and is a key solution to mitigate climate change and advance the phase-out of fossil energy sources.
