Finnish Shipowners’ Association
The Finnish Shipowners’ Association represents shipping companies operating across various maritime sectors. Since 1917, the association has promoted the competitiveness and operating conditions of Finnish shipping through advocacy in maritime, industrial and labour market policy at both national and international levels.
Shipping plays a vital role in Finland’s foreign trade, security of supply and economic resilience. The association works closely with policymakers, industry stakeholders and international organizations to support a competitive, sustainable and innovative maritime sector.
As shipping advances toward climate neutrality, Finnish shipowners are at the forefront of technological development and environmental innovation, investing in new technologies and exploring alternative fuels and energy solutions to reduce the environmental impact of shipping.
The association’s key priorities include maritime and industry policy, labour market policy, environmental responsibility, efficient transport infrastructure, security and preparedness, and the availability of a skilled maritime workforce. Through its engagement in European and global maritime organizations, the Finnish Shipowners’ Association contributes to shaping the regulatory framework for sustainable shipping and supports the transition towards cleaner maritime transport.
