Helen Oy
Helen is targeting carbon neutrality by 2030 in its energy production.
Helen is currently exploring business opportunities and its role and position in the future hydrogen economy and PtX related value chains.
Helen Group is a commercial entity, which consists of the parent company Helen Ltd and its subsidiaries Helen Electricity Network Ltd, Oy Mankala Ab and Helsingin Energiatunnelit Oy. The associated companies of Helen Ltd are Voimapiha Oy, Suomen Hyötytuuli Oy and Suomen Merituuli Oy.
Helen Ltd offers its customers electricity, district heating and district cooling, along with a wide range of services for small-scale energy production and the customers’ own energy use and improving its efficiency. Helen Ltd is owned by the City of Helsinki.
Helen wants to become an enabler for these solutions by utilizing its current and future capabilities and by building business concepts around renewable hydrogen and PtX:
- Significant renewable energy assets (e.g. wind, hydro and solar) and future wind parks under development
- By utilizing the waste heat from hydrogen production in district heating network
- Use of Biogenic CO2 source
- Creating flexibility into energy systems by energy storage and ability for demand response in power and heating.
Helen is also building several sector-integrated solutions, covering e.g. traffic, heat and electricity sectors.
